JLG Telehandler Training Kitchener - In the late 1960's John L. Grove, with his wife Cora started out on a cross country trip in their RV. Newly retired, after spending many years working with his brother to develop their crane business into an industry leader, John had no idea that important trip would allow JLG Industries, Inc to emerge. The world leader of mobile aerial work platforms and precision materials handling equipment was the end result of a road trip.
Whilst on their journey, John spent time conversing with previous business acquaintances whom the Groves stopped to see along the way. These conversations combined with a tragic event-two workers being electrocuted on scaffolding when the Groves were visiting Hoover Dam- John discovered a vast market for a product that could quickly and securely elevate people in the air to accomplish upkeep and other construction services.
After returning from their trip, John set up a business with two of his friends and bought a metal fabricating company in McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania. Starting with a small crew of twenty workers, they produced and sold their first JLG aerial work platform in 1970. The company incorporates many of the simple design essentials of that original lift into existing versions.
Since then, JLG Forklifts have come a great distance from when Mr. John L. Grove came back from his fatefull cross-country trip and since the first JLG aerial platform entered the marketplace. As of today, the business has expanded itself into a number of global markets and continues to develop new machines to ensure that customers are able to become safer and more well-organized within their workplace.
